Reishi, Ling zhi

This is a bright red mushroom with a hard skin of chitin and tough leathery flesh. Ganoderma lucidum was first described in the UK in 1781 although it has been used in Traditional Chinese Medicine for thousands of years. We grow a local strain which we collected in Suffolk in 2005. It is highly prized for it’s health benefits in Asia. Traditionally it is made into a decoction by cooking the mushrooms in water. Mushroom Tea Recipe
